Hampton Inn & Suites Alexandria Old Town Area South

If I could, I would give the Hampton Inn 10 stars instead of 5. The staff at the Hampton Inn in South Alexandria are truly exceptional. I confirmed my reservation with Ian, and he took the time to answer all of my questions. He was just as pleasant in person as he was over the phone. Nicole W. checked my husband and me in for our mini vacation, and she was welcoming, friendly, and provided all the information we needed for our stay. The hotel had a wonderful Christmas feel and smelled amazing the moment you walked in. The bathrooms were very clean, and breakfast was delicious—we loved the mini waffle maker, too freaking cute! The only complaints we had were the bed, as the mattress was not very comfortable, and the market prices. Two bottles of water, a ginger ale, and a Snickers came to $15, which felt a bit expensive. We also kept missing the cookies at 5 a.m. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back in the spring.

Overall, this was a good hotel experience. Our room was nice and everything was very standard for what we expected minus a few things. 1) $10 parking per night is not a terrible price, but it really should just be included in the price of the room. Just seemed like an unnecessary additional fee. 2) The bathroom was nice, but the toilet had VERY little flushing power. It really struggled to flush without anything in it at all, much less normal use. 3) This was the worst flaw for me: the shower could not hold a consistent temperature at all. I'm not sure what is wrong with their hot water heaters, but if I turned the hot water all the way on for my shower, it would be decently warm as I would expect, but then during the shower it would randomly fluctuate down to lukewarm and all the way up to scorching hot, without any adhustment of the temperature. It was very annoying if you wanted a not cold shower and to shower for longer than 3 minutes. 4) Not a terrible issue, but it is very difficult to initially find the entrance to the parking lot if it's dark outside. Make sure you don't miss the turn.

My husband and I stayed here a couple months ago while in town for work. I wanted to give a shout out to Francesca. Although she was busy managing the breakfast buffet alone, she patiently and cheerfully assisted me with the waffle maker. I had never used one before and was completely lost. Francesca juggled restocking the buffet while helping other guests and helped me prepare the perfect waffle. Her kindness and service helped start my day on a positive note and made me feel like a valued guest!

This location and staff are excellent! While on a vacation trip our car broke down and we were referred to this hotel by the Chevy dealership across the street . It exceeded our expectations for cleanliness, accommodations , and friendly and welcoming staff… The front desk staff, Shameka, and Mimi went out of their way to help us and accommodate our family. We really appreciated them and this outstanding property . Thank you!

I had breakfast here last week and I was blown away! This was best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel, anywhere! Blueberry waffles, fresh bagels, oatmeal and all the works! Strawberry compote! Juice on tap, cereal, yogurt, the softest breakfast potatoes in town alongside a fluffy cooked to perfection egg omelette, sausage everything was just so good! And to top it all off the Head Chef Torrey was so kind and attentive, and even with her staff and suburbanites she was extremely professional and just a very nice lady overall, it competed the optimal breakfast experience I was thoroughly enjoying! Thank you

Great budget hotel but class A all the way. Ok you handle all your luggage but the plusses out weigh all the things you might…. Find off, which aren’t a lot! Breakfast is good not great but you leave satisfied. Coffee is good and plentiful. Place is incredibly clean elevator is silent. Your phone is your room key! The rooms are supper clean with plenty of extras… coffee bar, great tv, bed and bedding. Lots of towels and really comfortable bed. Warm 20 degrees out side 72 in our room. A-plus for $129.00/ night plus taxes . Right in the middle south of old town just $150 less. Great!!!!!

Five-Star Stay Thanks to an Amazing Team After driving 16 hours from Florida and traveling alone, I arrived exhausted and cold, but Pauola at the front desk and Chris completely turned my night around. I was greeted warmly and checked in promptly, which was exactly what I needed after such a long trip. Pauola was incredibly helpful, polite, and professional. She truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Chris was equally impressive and supportive. both of them represented Hilton exceptionally well. It was cold outside, but parking was easy at $11, and the lot was very nicely plowed, which I really appreciated. Every detail felt handled with care. At checkout Mimi B was incredibly helpful. Top notch customer service! I sincerely hope Pauola, Mimi B and Chris are recognized for the outstanding job they do. Their service made a big difference and reflects the best of the Hilton brand. Highly recommend!

Great location, staff was amazing. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable, breakfast average. Elevators and parking were a little challenging but overall a good stay. Would recommend and would stay again.
